The Lesser of Two Evils

Let's suppose that your lifeless body is found hanged in a closet. Yes, yes, how tragic. Would you rather your death be ruled a suicide, or autoerotic asphyxiation (also known as "death by misadventure")?

Of course I'm referring to the recent death of David Carradine. Ann Althouse says, "I suppose it’s good to know he wasn’t suicidal (so it seems)." But I wonder...

If you commit suicide, there's at least a general sympathy for your condition. Most people feel a little sad that your life was so rough. They contemplate what could be so horrible that killing yourself becomes reasonable. Some may even reflect that their own problems don't seem so large by comparison.

But who feels sympathy for the pervert who was just trying to get off? I think it's a really pathetic way to die. Your private shame becomes the last thing anyone will ever remember about you.

So by all means, if I'm ever found dead in a compromising, suggestive situation, please FUCKING LIE. Not that I have any dangerous kinks... but it can't hurt to cover all the bases.
